Types of Switches for Model Railroad/Railway Tracks
There are two different types geometry for a switch in model railroading. This difference is important for configuring track layouts:

Switch Type 1
Switch Type 2
Switch Type 1
Switch Type A
Seems to be the easiest way
- needs only one type of straigth track, but ....
Switch Type 2
Switch Type B
Seems to be more difficult
- needs straight tracks of two different length, but ...
Switch Type 1
Switch Type A + Level_Junction
.. here we need level junctions/diamond crossings with tracks of different length!
Switch Type 2 + Level_Junction
Switch Type B + Level_Junction
... here the level junctions/diamond crossings have tracks with the same length!

... so, of which kind of death do we want to die ???
